High demand and low supply of visa places have led to long waiting times for skilled migrants. While waiting times are unpredictable, there are things within an applicant’s control that can maximise the chances of being invited.

This session will cover several commonly asked questions about the SkillSelect system including:

  • Why the waiting times have significantly increased over the past year
  • How to make sense of the information published on invitation rounds
  • Common mistakes in applying for an Expression of Interest
  • What it means to be an Accountant, Engineer or ICT professional in the current system
  • What you can do to improve your chances of being invited for a skilled visa

The session will run for 20 minutes followed by a question and answer session. The session is intended for those who have lodged or are intending to lodge an Expression of Interest for a General Skilled Migration visa (Subclasses 189, 190 or 489).
